Welcome to the place where the sea meets the sun, to the spring of life, to the place of relaxation. Promajna was named after the Sun which happily appears above the mountain of Biokovo in the most beautiful sunrises, freely spreading its rays towards the sea.
Promajna is truly a little pearl of Makarska Riviera, calm, quiet, with crystal clear and warm sea, well preserved environment, ideal for a good and memorable vacation. It bends along a beautiful beach, among the olive trees and surrounded by pine trees.
The spacious church of All Saints, built in 1999., with its tower dominates the center of Promajna.
It is today a nice place that has all the basic facilities for tourists (post office, shops, travel agencies, exchange office), and local restaurants offer culinary specialties of Dalmatian and international cuisine. It´s been linked to both Makarska (6 km) and Baška Voda (3 km) with D 8 Adriatic road and a wlking trail along the sea.
The name of Promajna appears for the first time in 1674. but a large number of archeological finds (pottery, amphoras, coins, tegulae, etc.) talk about life in this region even in the second century before Christ. The beginnings of tourism are related to the construction of the nearby “Children´s village”, the spa of respiratory diseases.
Promajna won several awards over past 10 years as one of the tidiest small tourist towns on the Adriatic coast ("Blue Flower" award).
Dear guests, welcome to your and our Promajna !
